About the role

To help grow our portfolio of mammalian cell lines we are looking for a Scientist with proven experience with cultivation and genetic engineering of bovine cells and in particular bovine pluripotent stem cells.
As a Scientist with experience working with bovine cells you will be a key member of our Cell Line Development team, where you will be working within our iPSC Derivation team to develop new bovine pluripotent stem cell lines. You will be directly involved in the establishment and characterization of bovine iPSC cell lines that will be used in research and in product development.

The ideal candidate has experience with the generation of iPSC cell lines of bovine origin and/or derivation of bovine embryonic stem cell lines and understands the molecular mechanisms of reprogramming and pluripotency. He or she has ample experience with molecular and cell biology techniques, preferably including CRISPR/Cas and/or other gene editing techniques.

Qualifications

  • PhD or 4+ years of similar relevant experience in Stem Cell Biology, Molecular and Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Developmental Biology or similar fields.
  • Experience working with bovine cell lines and genetic engineering in bovine cell lines or other bovine models (such as embryos) is required.
  • Expertise with molecular cell biology techniques, preferably including CRISPR/Cas and/or other gene editing techniques
  • Expertise in reprogramming into iPSC and/or with the development of reporter cell lines, particularly in bovine
  • Knowledge of pluripotent stem cell culture, pluripotency and cell signalling within different species
  • Experience with NGS, RNA-seq analysis and other bioinformatic tools applied to the bovine genome is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently within a group, driving innovation.
