About the role

Production of cultured meat is a cutting-edge biotechnological process combining challenges from mammalian cell culture and the food industry, as well as creating a few complications of its own. As Scientist Analytical Chemistry you will be challenged to develop chemical analytical techniques and methods allowing us to thoughtfully monitor and improve every stage of that process.

Your responsibilities are supporting the R&D team in the development of chemical analytical methods required for the research and the pilot plant, maintaining the analytical equipment, writing SOPs, organizing the documentation, and building a chemical analysis framework in a GLP-compliant manner.

You will work as part of the Ingredients Team in the Research and Development Department but will support and be supported by all teams and departments, including Bioprocess development, Food Science, and Quality Control specialists.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry + at least 3 years relevant industry experience OR a MSc Analytical Chemistry + at least 7 years experience
  • Proven hands-on experience in analytical HPLC
  • Experience in routinely providing analysis as a service within the company
  • Experience in cell culture media analysis is a plus
  • Experienced in establishing and maintenance of the analytical lab preferably under the cGMP (food or pharmaceutical production)
  • Knowledge of cGxP guidelines in relevant field
  • Knowledge of common chemical analytical techniques such as analytical HPLC, HPLC-MS, GC-MS, SEC, NMR and ELISA
  • Knowledge of common biochemical analytical techniques such as qPCR, Western blot and FACS is a plus
