Strategy Specialist


Meatable is growing fast and secured its Series A funding round earlier this year. With this money, we are now fully in the process of moving from a start-up to a scale-up organization – and therefore pre-empting and solving all the challenges associated with this transformation. We are now boosting the timelines and progression of our research, but also investing in the commercialization of our products and the development of our organization. We have built a leading in-house Strategy and Commerce team, and are now looking for a talented strategic thinker who can single-handedly manage a diverse range of strategic projects across multiple areas of the organization. As Strategy Specialist you will be at the heart of the Strategy Team, and assist Meatable’s Leadership by ensuring we have all the data, analysis and knowledge to make the correct strategic decisions in shaping Meatable’s future. These responsibilities will be both internal (e.g. gathering the correct input from R&D and Operations teams) and external (market research, market assessments, competitive analyses etc.). As Strategy Specialist you should be comfortable and capable working independently, managing strategic projects which feed into wider decision making in the organization. You should also an outstanding and flexible communicator, able to work effectively with the diverse range personalities and ways of thinking throughout the organization. The Strategy Specialist will have plenty of freedom to tackle Meatable’s strategic challenges. You will work with a team of bright colleagues, including the Strategy Manager (5+ years at Strategy&), Director of Commerce & Strategy (10+ years at BCG) and the CEO (7+ years at McKinsey). So this role will be a great adventure for an experienced consultant who wants to help build a company with the potential to make the world a better place. Your key responsibilities will include: Independently conduct strategic projects. For example: * Size and forecast our addressable market and market share (based on external data, analysis and competitive analysis), driving decision making on future product portfolio - Helping to define our product strategy (coordinating inputs from R&D, Commerce and Food science), answering key go/no-go questions to drive decision making - Maintain a database of competitor product and market data, advise for strategic focus based on our relative strength and differentiation - Value chain mapping and target screening - Various projects to support R&D function, for example evaluating potential outsourcing partners * Implementing change in the organisation e.g. new toolings, planning * Preparing meetings, presentations and business intelligence to support the Management Team and Strategy Team * Assisting with Board, Management and investor-facing storylining, presentations and analysis * Unique challenges arising from the fast paced and rapidly developing nature of our business, e.g. setting up new functions, problem solving gaps and opportunities in the organisation

Project Leader


We are seeking an experienced Project Leader. Someone who will be responsible for project management activities including project planning, execution, control, and responsible for shaping and leading cross-functional project teams. As a key member of our Meatable team you will be working closely with our research team leads and other functions across the whole value chain. At the same time, you will interact and manage external stakeholders. You will report to our Director of Transformation & Execution, who is the functional head of our Project Management Office. We are looking for an excellent communicator who is self-directing with an agile mindset, since you will be working in a fast-moving environment where things can and will change quickly. Your main responsibilities will include the defining of project objectives and scope and the developing of integrated project plans. You will lead project execution and periodic project reviews of both internal projects and projects executed (partially) with externals. You will provide project management coaching and development for team members as appropriate. Next to that you will keep the team focused on project objectives, budget, and timely delivery of results. In addition, you will be asked to contribute to developing and implementing necessary PM-practices, tools and processes within the organization as well as support specific tasks executed by the PMO. Manager Innovation


At Meatable we are looking for a Manager Innovation who can help us stay on top of everything that is happening in the world around us. Someone who can ensure that we are always the first to know about any relevant studies/experts/companies that might help us improve our techniques. Someone who can help filter the input from various organizations we see coming to us. And someone who can build relationships with these parties, as well as negotiate, and ensure that the cooperation is beneficial for all parties. Alongside evaluating and managing potential innovations which could be beneficial to Meatable, the Manager Innovation will work closely with our R&D teams to identify where in our processes external collaborations could help us solve important problems. Therefore, we are looking for someone with a solid Life Science background and experience, so that this person is able to understand all of the facets of our work (cell biology, media development, bioprocess engineering, tissue engineering and an ability to understand food science), who can bring to us experience from a scientific affairs & innovation role, preferably combined with a thorough understanding of patenting and licensing. This person will work very closely together with Daan Luining, our founder and CTO and the driver of Meatable’s methodologies. Together they will form our Technology Intelligence team (which can be expanded in the future) and ensure that Meatable is always on-top-of any innovation that is relevant for us. Your key responsibilities will include: - Create overview of any specific input our researchers need help with now or in the future, and define potential parties who can be of help with these questions - Constantly scan our direct and indirect environment (universities, associations, start-ups in related fields, publications, etc) for any novelty techniques that might be(come) interesting for us - Filter input/requests we receive from a variety of companies/institutions that want to cooperate with us - Prioritize potentially interesting parties, discuss with the senior stakeholders, and engage in partnership conversations and negotiations with the most important players - Review and monitor R&D results - Structure all discussions around patenting, licensing and ensure that Meatable remains in control of its own technology Who are you: - A self-starter, independent, hands-on, not afraid to reach out to new people or to work/interact with senior people from large organizations - Structured and conscientious - A good networker, easily able to build relationships, but at the same time a strong negotiator who is able to negotiate with smaller as well as larger parties - Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders within Meatable: scientists, commercial teams and Management

Technician Muscle Tissue


As the Technician Muscle Tissue, you will work in the Tissue Engineering (TE) Team which is part of the Research and Development (R&D) Department to advance and scale up our muscle tissue generation. Together with the team, you will be challenged to engineer a synergistic environment of physical, chemical, and biological cues to drive the differentiation of our unique induced pluripotent stem cells into myogenesis. You will perform experiments as well being part of cross functional collaborative projects that result in transition from research into product development. You are a team player, result oriented and work hard to achieve your part of the TE team goals. Within the TE team, we are a dynamic team with expertise in material science, cell biology, physics, and tissue engineering. This is a lab oriented scientific position requiring literature research, effective experimentation, thorough analysis, and comprehensive presentation of results within the TE team and the R&D department. Hence, thinking critically, being innovative, and being able to multi-task are essential characteristics for being successful in this role. Technician Fat Cultivation


As our Fat Cultivation Technician, you will support our team in the development of safe and sustainable cell-based fat, using state of the art techniques. As a key member of our Fat Development team, you will assist in the generation and characterization of adipocytes from different species (porcine, bovine and more!) according to GLP/GMP criteria. You are an enthusiastic person and work hard to achieve your part of the company goals. You have good interpersonal communication skills, and you are able to effectively communicate your results to colleagues with a different expertise background. You are result oriented, and you are able to deal with unexpected changes and work in a dynamic environment. You will support our scientific experts within cross functional collaborative projects that transitions from research into product development. Responsibilities: - Collaboration with fellow researchers to plan experiments and establish action points. - Perform experiments and analyse data. - Present data at group meetings. - Contribute to lab management activities.
